Replace the rear bumper absorber if it is cracked or crushed after a rear impact, since it absorbs collision energy and protects the body and bumper cover in minor accidents.

• Replacement sign: Cracking, crushing or crumbling of the foam after a rear hit, or the bumper cover no longer sitting firmly in place.
• Approximate lifespan: Typically lasts the life of the vehicle unless it sustains a rear impact.
• Install requirement: Requires removing the rear bumper cover to reach the absorber and fit it into its correct position.
