Replace the valve seals when you notice blue exhaust smoke or excessive oil consumption, since worn seals let oil leak into the combustion chamber and hurt engine performance.

• Replacement sign: Blue exhaust smoke, especially at startup, along with noticeable oil loss between oil changes.
• Approximate lifespan: Typically lasts between 120,000 and 150,000 km depending on driving conditions and oil quality.
• Install requirement: Installation requires removing the cylinder head and special tools, so it should be done by a qualified technician.
